Borgo Egnazia was built from scratch in 2010, to a design by architect Pino Brescia, as a Puglian village in tufa and limestone: a piazza, lanes, white houses, a chapel, on about 18 hectares among the olive trees of Savelletri di Fasano. For a wedding this changes everything: you are not hiring a hall or a garden, you are hiring a village, and your guests sleep in its houses. In October 2012 Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel took the whole place to get married; in July 2014 Nikesh Arora's wedding occupied the village for a week.

A whole village, with a piazza, lanes and a chapel, built in 2010 to be lived in: for a three-day wedding there is no larger stage.

Beyond weddings, the biggest endorsement came in June 2024, when the resort hosted the G7 summit with heads of state and government, from Joe Biden to Rishi Sunak: a test of logistics and security that few hotels in the world have passed.

Where the ceremony takes place

Borgo Egnazia is on the municipality of Fasano's official list of venues authorised to celebrate marriages and civil unions: a civil ceremony here is legally binding without a trip to the town hall. The village chapel takes around fifty guests for a civil or religious rite; larger ceremonies use the piazza, the terraces over the sea, the gardens among the olives or the beach club on the Adriatic. Symbolic and Protestant ceremonies are held too. For couples from abroad, the paperwork for an Italian civil wedding is the planner's first job, and this municipality is used to receiving it.

The reception: piazza, pools, banqueting hall and beach

Event space runs to about 4,000 square metres, 800 of them covered, according to the planners who work here: the large banqueting hall, the pool area and the village piazza for groups of 50 to 300; for bigger weddings, up to 550, several areas are combined. The beach club on the Adriatic is the setting for drinks or for a party the day after. The kitchen is the resort's own, from the Michelin-starred Due Camini of chef Domingo Schingaro to the village trattorias.

How many guests

Fifty to 300 is the natural size of a wedding here; 550 is the maximum planners quote, using the whole village. The number matters less than elsewhere, because the spaces are many: what matters is how many houses and villas you need to sleep everyone inside the walls, which is the real luxury of a three-day wedding at Borgo Egnazia.

Sleeping in the village

The 63 rooms of La Corte, the 92 houses of the Borgo and the 28 villas with private pools can house the entire guest list of a large wedding, all within the walls: the bride in a villa, the families in the houses, friends in La Corte. It is the formula that made the resort famous for three-day weddings, with the whole weekend run as a programme: arrivals, welcome dinner, ceremony, the day after at the beach or on the golf course.

How guests get there

From Bari airport it is 55 kilometres and about 45 minutes; from Brindisi 50 kilometres and a little over half an hour; Fasano station is five kilometres away. For international weddings, planners work with both airports and the resort's shuttles; anyone flying privately uses Bari or Brindisi. Inside the village you move on foot or in the resort's electric shuttles.

When to marry here

From May to October, with June and September the best months: a warm sea, long evenings in the piazza and fewer crowds than in July and August, when the resort is full of holiday guests and securing exclusivity is harder. April and October work well for weddings without the beach, with golf and the villages of the Valle d'Itria on the guests' programme.

The resort works in winter too, with its covered halls, the spa and the golf course: for a corporate event or an intimate wedding between November and March, availability and terms are very different from summer, and exclusive use of whole areas of the village becomes far easier to secure.

How much it costs

Borgo Egnazia publishes no wedding rate: every proposal starts from a block of rooms and a minimum food and beverage spend. A real quote reported by Tulle Together (October 2026) for a September 2027 wedding: reception dinner from 220 euros per head plus VAT, space hire between 2,000 and 15,000 euros plus VAT depending on the area, a minimum food and beverage spend of 50,000 euros plus VAT, and 168,840 euros including VAT for 30 rooms for three nights.

Italian Venues (July 2026) estimates 130,000 to 250,000 euros in total for 50 guests over two or three days, and well into six figures for exclusive use of the whole resort with hundreds of guests. Figures for the rest of Italy are in our guide to luxury wedding costs.

What to ask before signing

  • whether the wedding has exclusive use of the village or shares it with resort guests, and in which areas;
  • how many rooms, houses and villas are blocked for guests, and on what terms;
  • where the civil ceremony takes place (chapel, piazza, beach) and how it is booked with the municipality of Fasano;
  • the rain plan, with the 800 covered square metres and the banqueting hall;
  • whether the beach club is included for drinks or the day-after party;
  • the weekend programme: golf, spa and beach for guests on the days before and after.

What to see nearby

For a wedding or a multi-day event, the surroundings become part of the programme: welcome activities, excursions for guests, the day after the ceremony.
